The assets managed by resident and non-resident investment funds operating in Bulgaria totalled 3,105.2 million leva as at end-June 2017, up by 869.7 million leva (38.9 per cent) year-on-year.
As a percentage of GDP, resident and non-resident investment funds assets stood at 3.2 per cent as at end-June 2017, compared to 2.4 per cent of GDP a year earlier.
The assets of resident investment funds amounted to 1,167.6 million leva as of end-June, increasing by 307.7 million leva (35.8 per cent) year-on-year. Equity funds' assets increased by 157.7 million leva (51.6 per cent) to 463 million leva at end-June, whereas mixed funds' assets grew by 48.3 million leva (27.3 per cent) to 225.6 million leva.
As at end-June 2017, bond funds held the largest share, 40.9 per cent, of the assets of resident investment funds, compared to 43.7 per cent a year earlier. Equity funds held 39.7 per cent at the end of June, as against 35.5 per cent a year earlier.
