The unemployment rate in the 28 countries - members of the European Union decreased in September to 9.3% from 9.4% in August compared to 10.1% a year ago (September 2014), reaching the lowest level since September in 2009, show the data of Eurostat.
According to Eurostat the unemployment rate in Bulgaria decreased in September to 9.4% from 9.6% in August, reaching the lowest level since 2009.
Eurostat also reported that on an annual basis, unemployment rate in Bulgaria in September marks one of the sharpest declines compared to all other member states of the EU, falling in the last 12 months of 11.3% (in September 2014) to 9.4% (in September 2015). More substantial decrease in unemployment on an annual basis was registered only in Spain (down from 24% to 21.6%) and Estonia (down from 8.0% to 5.7%).
