According to the latest figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), Bulgaria registered an annual deflation of 0.4 % in December last year.
The index of consumer prices in December 2015 compared to the previous month was 100 %, which meant that the monthly inflation was 0 %.
There was an average yearly deflation of 0.1 % last year compared to 2014.
In December, there was a minor 0.1 % increase in the prices of alcoholic drinks and tobacco products as well as of dwellings and utility bills.
The prices of transport, entertainment and culture as well as of restaurant and hotel services recorded even higher increase.
At the same time, the prices of food products and soft drinks as well as of clothing and shoes registered a decrease of 0.5 %.
Drops were also registered in the prices of furniture and domestic appliances, messages and various goods and products.
The prices of healthcare and education retained their levels from November 2015.
In December, the prices of the following food products increased: bread, poultry meat, milk, eggs, margarine, dry sweets, cabbage, garlic, potatoes, lentil, mineral water, carbonated drinks.
The prices of the following food products dropped: rice, pork meat, cattle meat, yoghurt, cheese, sunflower oil, apples, citrus fruits, beans, sugar, salt, coffee and wines.
