Unlike any other year, when customers in Greece enjoyed serious discounts, this year sales are quite limited.

As it appears, a lot of the stores that used to be actively working over the summer, are now closing for the most part of the work weeks, just to limit their expenses. It is expected that normal working hours will be restored by the end of August, BGNES reported.

Bulgarians living and working in the capital Athens say that the financial stagnation is most visible in big cities. More and more employers prefer to insure their workers for merely 2 or 3 days a week, as opposed to the full time worked, just to save up on money.

Bulgarians who emigrated to Greece in hopes of reaching retirement safely and at a higher pension rate, are no longer that optimistic. 

In addition, an increased trend for emmigration can be observed among young people in Greece, who choose to continue their education and careers in Western Europe or the USA.
