Bulgarian exports to third countries decreased by 12% in the period January-September 2016 in comparison with the same period of 2015 and amounted to BGN 10 M, national statistics show.
Main trade partners of Bulgaria were Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia, China, the Russian Federation and the US, which accounted for 49.1% of the exports to non- EU countries.
In September 2016, Bulgarian exports to third countries, increased by 5.6 compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and added up to BGN 1 M.
In the first nine months of 2016, the largest growth in the exports of Bulgaria to third countries was recorded in the section “Miscellaneous manufactured articles” (30.2), according to the Standard International Trade Classification. The most notable fall was reported in section “Beverages and tobacco” (26.2%).
Bulgarian imports from third countries in the period January - September 2016 decreased by 11.1% in comparison with the same period of 2015 and added up to BGN 12 M (at CIF prices). The largest amounts were reported for the goods imported from the Russian Federation, Turkey, China and Ukraine.
The most notable fall was observed in section “Mineral fuel, lubricants and related materials” ( 29.8%).
The foreign trade balance of Bulgaria (export FOB - import CIF) with third countries in the period January - September 2016 was negative and added up to BGN 1 M. The trade balance at FOB/FOB prices (after elimination of transport and insurance costs on imports) was also negative and amounted to around BGN 1 M.
The value of all exported goods from Bulgaria to third countries and EU amounted to BGN 33 M in the period January- September 2016 and in comparison with the corresponding period of 2015 the exports decreased by 0.5%. In September 2016 the total exports added up to BGN 4 M or otherwise 11.6% more than the same month of the previous year.

The total foreign trade balance (exports FOB - import CIF) was negative in the period January - September 2016 and amounted to BGN 3 M. At FOB/FOB prices (after elimination of transport and insurance costs on imports) in the same period the total foreign trade balance was also negative and added up to BGN 1 M.
In September 2016 the total foreign trade balance (exports FOB- import CIF) was negative and amounted to BGN 119 M. The trade balance FOB/ FOB prices was positive and added up BGN 89 M.
