Two months before the end of 2016, Sofia Airport exceeded the record number of 4 million passengers (4,076,897), announced the venture.

In October, there was a 33% increase (477,323) in the number of passengers, compared to October 2015.

The number of passengers processed at Terminal 1 doubled in the period, reaching 262,000.

Terminal 1 is used by low-cost carriers. Terminal 2 recorded 215,000 passengers.

The number of passengers on regular international flights increased by 35%, while domestic flights reported an increase of 4%, compared to October 2015.

There was 26% growth in charter flights to tourist destinations – Greece, Turkey and Egypt.

An 18% increase was reported by the cargo unit for October.
