Bulgaria and Romania will cooperate in finding new markets outside the European Union. This became clear at a meeting between the Minister of Agriculture and Food Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozukov and the Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria H.E. Mr. Ion Gâlea. Both sides agreed on the need to continue to work closely together and seek ways for the realization of goods to markets outside the EU.
"Our countries have similar goals and challenges and together we can achieve much more," said Prof. Bozukov. Both officials agreed to form working groups of experts to exchange experiences in the field of agriculture. They will also discuss the framework of the new Common Agricultural Policy with a view to the upcoming EU presidency of both countries and uniting around a common position.
Prof. Bozukov got acquainted H.E. Mr. Ion Gâlea with the desire of our country to a more equitable distribution of funds in agriculture sector having in mind the CAP policy debate. According to him, priority should be the disadvantaged areas where farming opportunities are limited. "Our goal is to achieve a fairer distribution that is more easily accessible to farmers," stated Prof. Bozukov.
